Treatments
Our neonatal specialists are trained to provide comprehensive medical care for premature and critically ill newborns. We offer a wide range of treatments for a variety of neonatal conditions including:
- Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS): This condition occurs in premature babies and is caused by a lack of surfactant, a substance that helps the lungs expand and contract. Our team of neonatal specialists is trained to provide specialized care for babies with RDS, including the use of mechanical ventilation and surfactant replacement therapy.
- Jaundice: This condition is caused by the build-up of bilirubin in the blood and can cause yellowing of the skin and eyes. Our neonatal specialists are trained to monitor and treat jaundice in newborns, using phototherapy and other treatments as needed.
- Congenital defects: Some babies are born with conditions such as heart defects, gastrointestinal defects, or neural tube defects. Our neonatal surgeons are experienced in performing complex surgeries to correct these defects and provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Infections: Newborns are particularly susceptible to infections, and our neonatal specialists are trained to recognize and treat a wide range of infections in newborns, including sepsis and meningitis.
- Hypoglycemia: This condition occurs when a newborn’s blood sugar levels are too low. Our neonatal specialists are trained to monitor and treat hypoglycaemia in newborns, using glucose infusions and other treatments as needed.
- Neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS): This condition occurs when a newborn experiences withdrawal symptoms after being exposed to drugs in the womb. Our neonatal specialists are trained to provide specialized care for babies with NAS, including medication-assisted therapy and supportive care.
At Wellness Hospitals, we understand the importance of timely medical care for newborns. That’s why we offer round-the-clock neonatal emergency services, so parents can rest assured that their newborn is receiving the best possible care in case of a medical emergency
