Dr Maydari Sumavally

Dr Maydari Sumavally holds a DNB in Vascular Surgery and a Fellowship in Endovascular & Vascular Surgery, and treats the arteries and veins: varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency, peripheral arterial disease, deep vein thrombosis, carotid artery disease, and aortic and peripheral aneurysms. A significant part of the work is limb salvage - diabetic foot complications, chronic non-healing ulcers and critical limb ischaemia, where restoring blood flow is what decides whether a limb is kept. She also creates and maintains vascular access for haemodialysis, and manages vascular trauma. Her research examined uterine artery embolisation for intractable uterine bleeding. She is a member of the Vascular Society of India and practises at Begumpet.
