Dr Basudev Pokhrel

Dr Basudev Pokhrel completed his MBBS at Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, and his MD in Immunohaematology & Blood Transfusion at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College. His published work in the Global Journal of Transfusion Medicine examined how the storage age of transfused blood units affects recovery after cardiac surgery. He treats both benign and malignant blood disease: anaemia and bone marrow failure syndromes, haemophilia and clotting disorders, thalassaemia and sickle cell disease with genetic counselling, and leukaemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes including bone marrow transplantation, immunotherapy and targeted therapy. He is a member of the Indian Society of Haematology and Blood Transfusion and practises at Begumpet.

He completed his MBBS from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2012 and earned his MD in Immunohematology & Blood Transfusion from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in 2018.
